a big bang for your buck.”
- Phil Tiemstra, President, Gull Valley Greenhouses
The fresh tomatoes and lettuce grown at Gull Valley Greenhouses are a favorite of shoppers at local farmers markets in the Edmonton area. Which is why Phil Tiemstra and his son, Levi, decided to capitalize on the demand for Gull Valley’s product with winter production.
Gull Valley Greenhouses implemented a 100% LED solution: a combination of Philips LED double-line interlighting and LED toplighting to produce total light of 204 µmols/s/m2. With the installation a full LED solution (toplighting and interlighting), the Tiemstra’s are now able to offer a plentiful supply of freshly harvested tomatoes through the dark months of winter.
This LED solution has given shoppers at local farmer's markets the newfound ability to enjoy increased winter production of Beefsteak, Cherry, and TOVs throughout all months of the year.
Philips GreenPower LED interlighting system allows you to grow and harvest fresh and flavorful tomatoes or cucumbers year-round, no matter where you are or what energy prices you face.
Philips GreenPower LED toplighting combined with our dedicated light recipes, opens up new opportunities for every greenhouse grower to increase their quality and move to year-round production.
