For the first time, innovative solar hybrid technology — a solar and hybrid-powered lighting system in a single device — has arrived in Italy. Signify has supplied 14 Philips SunStay All In One Hybrid streetlights to the municipality of Montorso Vicentino, in the province of Vicenza, to ensure safe and perfectly lit streets.

Customer Challenge
In Montorso Vicentino, a municipality in the province of Vicenza, the access to the electrical network was unstable and costly due to the area being located among large green spaces and surrounded by nature. For this reason, Signify's challenge was to provide a lighting solution that could ensure efficient and sustainable lighting, while keeping costs and energy consumption low.
Solar and hybrid lighting technology
Signify's project in Montorso Vicentino represents the first application of solar hybrid technology in Italy, with a total of 14 Philips SunStay All In One hybrid streetlamps supplied. The photovoltaic panel makes this technology the ideal solution because it allows the luminaires to use electricity generated by solar energy, resorting to the power grid only when access to it is unstable or weather conditions are critical. With this in place, we can guarantee citizens quality, efficient and sustainable lighting.
