Philips Metropole LED gen2: comfortable, unobtrusive light in a discreet design

Product family information

Description

The Philips Metropole LED gen2 post-top luminaire is the perfect solution for creating an inviting urban environment. It balances comfort and unobtrusive lighting in a discreet design and emits a pleasant, non-glary, soft glow that elevates the atmosphere of any outdoor space. Originally designed 25 years ago, Philips Metropole has been rejuvenated with a modern and minimalistic design. The new version features a contemporary look that meets the needs of today’s cities and towns. Metropole LED gen2 is designed to emit indirect, symmetrical, glare-free light from the light source hidden at the bottom of the bowl. The light is directed downwards by a top reflector, reducing light pollution and ensuring that light is directed exactly where it's needed. The top reflector also helps to diffuse light uniformly, distributing soft, comfortable light without glare. Residents won't be disturbed by light emitted from the luminaire, as a louver can be easily added to prevent light from spilling into nearby homes. Metropole LED gen2 is available in warmer color temperatures that minimize disturbance to nocturnal wildlife and respect the integrity of the surrounding environment. Metropole LED gen2 is designed with the circular economy in mind. Aluminum parts are made of 88% recycled material. The luminaire is upgradeable and serviceable during its operational life. While at the end of life, the luminaire can be dismantled and parts recycled. Metropole LED gen2 also features a top Zhaga-D4i (ZD4i) system-ready socket, making it compatible with advanced lighting management systems such as Interact for increased energy savings.
