Higher efficacy
and 30% longer lifetime

Eindhoven, The Netherlands – Philips Lighting (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, today announced the introduction of a new generation of its GreenPower LED production module family at IPM Essen that offers a longer lifetime of 35,000 burning hours and a higher light efficacy of up to 3.0 µmol/J to further reduce electricity costs. This makes LED grow lights more cost-efficient with a shorter payback period for growers who want to use LEDs to improve the quality and productivity of their crops. 

“Since 2011, growers have been using the previous version of our production module in multilayer setups around the globe. With this module, they have experienced better climate control, year-round production and better propagation success rates. With the new generation, we improved the design further to make it even easier for growers to benefit from LED grow lights in multilayer setups,” said Udo van Slooten, Business Leader Horticulture at Philips Lighting. “It is designed to meet the needs of growers who are looking for a more economical way to apply LED light in propagation, multilayer cultivation of herbs and leafy greens, and indoor farming. The new module offers an additional 10,000 burning hours compared to the previous version, so growers can increase the return on their investment.”
