Eindhoven, The Netherlands – Philips Lighting (Euronext Amsterdam ticker: LIGHT), a global leader in lighting, today announced the hiring of five new people to strengthen its Horticulture LED Solutions business: Erik Stappers, plant specialist high wire cultivation, Stefan Hendriks, plant specialist floriculture, Arnold van Liempt, business development manager city farming, Alisa Shlyuykova, key account manager East Europe, Jason Grimmett, key account manager, US. These new hires bring new expertise and experience to support customers and projects across the globe.

Two new plant specialists, Erik Stappers for high wire cultivation and Stefan Hendriks for floriculture, broaden the expertise available to support these fast-growing areas. After completing his Bachelor of Science degree at the HAS University of Applied Science in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, Stappers worked several years at Wijnen Square Crops, a large-scale grower of bell peppers and cucumbers. Stappers looks forward to helping high wire growers further improve their results with LEDs.

Two new key account managers join the team: Alisa Shlyuykova in East Europe and Jason Grimmett in the US.  Shlyuykova obtained a Master of Science in Plant Science at Wageningen University to enrich her knowledge of modern greenhouse technologies and of the horticulture business in general. Before joining Philips, she worked for Monsanto to develop its Eastern European market for mainly greenhouse crops and as a key account manager. Shlyuykova moved to Philips because she believes that LED is going to be the way forward. She will be developing business in the Eastern European market.
