What does a company whose business involves protecting the environment expect in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency in its offices? For Norwegian manufacturer Tomra, the standard is very high. As an international leader in collecting recyclable packaging for drinks and other goods, Tomra wanted a truly modern LED lighting concept for its Austrian subsidiary.
Tomra wanted to illuminate the existing double workspaces in its office in Austria with a new lighting solution that offers office compliant lighting, boosts concentration and motivation in the workspace, and contributes to employee wellbeing. Architects Helmut Frötscher and Wolfgang Prader worked in collaboration with Next Office to develop a harmonious LED solution with innovative lighting provided by Philips. In all offices, meeting rooms and the sales room, for example, energy-efficient and attractive SmartBalance free floor standing luminaires were installed combined with controls enabling daylight harvesting and presence detection. Due to its unique combination of direct and indirect warm white light, the SmartBalance free floor standing luminaire makes the office look brighter and the rooms seem larger and more spacious.
In the demonstration room, the special cylinders shaped booths were fitted with LuxSpace Accent adjustable LED downlights. This lighting solution accentuates the visual display of the products and highlights the sophisticated technology used in the reverse vending machines. The results even impressed architect Helmut Frötscher: "It's unusual to see all of the requirements being met and a concept being implemented 1:1 as planned. Everyone loves the results."
