Mioveni City Hospital is a highly significant institution for the region. Developing an adequate lighting solution was mandatory, in order to ensure the high standards of hygiene, while also contributing to energy efficiency and cost reduction.
In order to respond as effectively as possible to the challenge, the Signify team got involved since the design stage, so that the Mioveni Hospital became the first medical unit built entirely with Philips products, both indoors and outdoors.
A LED lighting system was chosen as a solution, using mainly Cleanroom lighting fixtures, adequate for ensuring the strict hygiene standards, because they prevent the dust and other germs from getting inside them. Such high-protection luminaires were installed in all the hospital areas – regardless of whether it was an operating room, a hallway or a hospital room.
Equipped with the latest LED engines, these Cleanroom luminaires are the ideal solution, delivering the best energy performance on the market – much better and fluorescent tube solutions – over 50.000 operational hours, without maintenance. This converts into lower costs over the entire lifetime of the light sources and thus an excellent return on investment.
