    • Signify is strengthening the floriculture team of Horticulture LED Solutions per January 2022
    • Growers can use Philips LED grow lights to grow floriculture crops of high quality, yield, predictability, and with lower energy costs

Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), world leader in lighting, is strengthening Horticulture LED Solution’s floriculture team per January 2022. Large scale research and experience by Signify has shown that growers can use Philips LED grow lights to grow crops such as chrysanthemums, roses, potted plants, and bedding plants with high quality, yield and predictability of the crops, and lower energy costs. To further strengthen the floriculture team, and have more growers experience the benefits of LED lighting, Signify has added two new faces to the team.

    Youri de Zeeuw.

Youri de Zeeuw has joined the team per January 1st as a Key Account Manager. Together with Wilco Verkuil, Youri will be responsible for the sales of Philips Horticulture LED products within the cut flower sector. He has a great deal of experience with Philips Horticulture LED products thanks to his work experience at Agrolux, and he knows the growers within this segment well. Dennis van Dijk, Commercial Leader Benelux at Signify: “We see an enormous demand for LED products in the floriculture market. Therefore, we have decided to expand this team. We are happy that Youri has joined us, and he will have a great start thanks to his experience!”

    Valentin Thonen
On January 10th the new Plant Specialist for floriculture also started his work at Signify: Valentin Thonen. Valentin will, together with Plant Specialist Leontiene van Genuchten, advise floriculture growers on growing with LED, and he will do research on recipe development. Esther de Beer, Manager of the team of Plant Specialists at Signify: “With his successful Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen and his Master’s degree in Greenhouse Horticulture at Wageningen University, Valentin has the knowledge and background to build on new insights about growing with LED and share this knowledge with growers.”
