The 'Save the snow' team has succeded in putting 22 Philips employees and friends on the top of Africa's highest mountain - Kilimanjaro 5895m. A further 12 reached the Gilmans summit at the crater rim at 5681m. In addition the group set up a sustainable lighting project in a Masai village in which a new solar panel lighting is now being tested. A key aim of the 'Save the snow' project is to promote a switch to energy efficient lighting.
