Transforming

Semarang
into a smart city

Philips is teaming up with cities to
bring them into the digital age

This Indonesian city has taken a major step towards reaching its smart city goals thanks to the recent installation of Philips CityTouch and upgraded LED lighting, resulting in increased energy savings and lowered operational costs.

The recent CityTouch installation, which was integrated with the systems already in use, helps establish a scalable smart city program with a resilient concept in place and allows energy offices to work more efficiently while saving on operational expenses.

The flexibility of remote management coupled with dimming and accurate energy tracking are in line with Semarang's smart city program"

City Mayor

San Francisco

In 2011, the non-profit arts organization, ILLUMINATE, collaborated with the California Department of Transportation, and artist Leo Villareal to create a stunning display of light on the San Francisco -Oakland Bay Bridge. Unveiled in 2013 and originally intended as a short-term installation, The Bay Lights became a global attraction. Before going live, it was dubbed by Hemispheres magazine as “the number one thing to see in the world during 2013.”

Siegburg

Utilizing the CityTouch workflow app, which designed exclusively for lighting, officials of the city of Siegburg, Germany, are now able to efficiently streamline workflows, improve maintenance response times, and more.
