Philips UV-quartz glass for optimal lighting performance

UV-quartz glass provides more powerful light on the road and the highest level of resistance to vibrations and extremes of temperature. It virtually eliminates the risk of explosion. Philips quartz glass with UV block, filters out harmful ultraviolet rays that are potentially damaging to modern plastic head lighting units.

Quartz-glass benefits

  • More powerful light: Quartz glass high resistance allows for increased pressure inside the lamp and thus generates more powerful light.

  • Better resistance: Philips quartz glass lamp (filament at 2 650°C and glass at 800°C) is capable to withstand a severe thermal shock.

  • Optimal protection against ultraviolet rays: a special anti-UV coating integrated in Philips quartz glass lamps protects against harmful ultraviolet rays. The anti-UV coating prevents plastic head lighting units from yellowing.

Philips state-of-the-art technology is environmentally friendly

Our breakthrough use of LEDs and our new xenon range means more light and less energy. Our goal is to minimize environmental damage in everything we do. We produce reliable, longer-lasting products that reduce waste, in compliance with the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE). We lead the lighting industry in reducing the amount of hazardous material used, going beyond the EU RoHS requirements for mercury.

All Philips halogen lamps are lead, cadmium, and mercury-free.
