The 3 CLUE winners sharing their projects - Light and the Senses

CLUE (Community Lighting for the Urban Environment) runs an annual competition challenging young designers and emerging professionals to develop innovative lighting concepts.


The third CLUE winner - duo Caroline Haydee De Carli and Joao Pedro Lopes Andrade from Brazil will present their entry "A look through the wall" (3rd prize). Caroline and Joao will talk about the conflict between Israel and Palestine and what they have proposed for that area. They will also talk about the critic art, urbanism, technology and design and how they have used that in the project.


The second CLUE winner - Kareem Asfahani is from Beirut, Lebanon and he will talk about his entry "Auraroma: The weaving of hue, scent, and light" (2nd prize).  Kareem will discuss a low-cost solution to revitalize the run-down Beirut Staircases in order to attract the countless Beirutis who are not only in dire need to indulge in public spaces, but also to be revitalized by color, scent, and light.


And finally, the CLUE competition winner - Santiago Bautista who is from Spain will introduce his entry "SOL (Suspended Omnidirectional light) and collective light therapy" (1st prize). He is an architect, designer and entrepreneur currently living in Copenhagen. Santiago will focus on further explaining the idea behind the winning proposal of the CLUE 04 competition, the concept of collective light therapy and the possibilities of SOL.
