Deep disparities in energy access continue to deprive millions of people in Africa of access to essential life services like electric light. For families without access to electric light, the productive day ends at sunset. Beyond sunset, they must struggle to work, study, or engage in communal activities in the light of kerosene lamps or by candlelight. We also provide light in humanitarian contexts.
In pursuit of our mission to enable access to the benefits of sustainable lighting solutions to underserved communities, we believe that societies that aren’t yet on the electric grid could leapfrog to sustainable, clean technologies to meet their energy needs.
