    Sustainable lighting

    Designed to make a difference

Lighting consumes around 12% of all electricity globally. Rapid conversion to efficient LED lighting solutions is a key milestone to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, according to the International Energy Association (IEA).

Our lighting products, systems, and services are designed to help customers participate in this transition. With highly energy-efficient lamps and luminaires, lighting for circularity, connected systems that maximize performance and energy savings, and more, we have the lighting solutions to help you achieve your sustainability goals.

Our packaging does right for the environment

Every year, over 2 billion tonnes of waste is produced globally, and 8 million tonnes of plastic make its way into the world’s oceans.

Packaging has been a sustainable focal area since the 1990s, and we’ve had a packaging policy in place since 2013. We started phasing out fossil-fuel based plastic from our consumer packaging in 2019, and have eliminated 2.5 million kg of plastic on an annual basis. We continue to work with suppliers to source sustainable alternatives to the adhesives used in our paper packaging material.

Signify is building a responsible supply chain

Our environmental impact includes our own operations, but extends beyond them as well. That’s why we’ve built an ecosystem of suppliers with a supplier sustainability performance rating of 97% in 2023.

We have developed several key programs that address the sustainability of different aspects of the value chain, such as supplier sustainability audits and training, responsible minerals sourcing, and supply chain carbon disclosures.
