Firstly, Danish Design Centre, Blue Bakery and Urgent. Agency collaborated with citizens to define the architectural brief. AI Architects & Engineers – a practice specializing in projects with a strong social impact – then developed the project with the support of Philips Lighting and its value-added partner Dalgsgaard.
At nighttime, the golden façade is illuminated by special eW Graze QLX Powercore LED luminaires from Philips Color Kinetics. Inside, a sculptural stair – known as the “Harry Potter Staircase”, as it seems to float – serves as the fulcrum around which the building’s different functions are arranged.
Gold is also used on the stair and the central space ceilings, which are lit by another LED system with Philips Color Kinetics strand light points eW Flex. The warm white lights are housed in gold-colored aluminum bars that are an integral part of the architectural design. Using integrated LEDs made it possible to obtain a continuous, smooth and uniform surface: a stage set for life inside the building.
