Electrical lead-in wires are required for practically every electronic device using a glass envelope to conduct electrical current and support other lamp parts. Depending on the application, Dumet and tungsten wires or mo foil are used to connect glass and metal in the press section of a lamp. The group Lead-in Wires manufactures lead-in wires for standard lamps (GLS, TL/CFL, HID) and for automotive and halogen applications, using either electrical or gas welding processes. The Dumet wire, renowned for its excellent glass / metal connection, can be supplied oxidized or borated, packed in drums or on spools. Both lead-in and Dumet wire meet the strictest quality and surface requirements.
Since there is little or no standardization of lead wire design, Philips Lighting Components excels in meeting the requirements of individual customers and in offering alternative, often more economical designs.
